Physician Assistant
Physician Assistants (PAs) are healthcare professionals with a generalist medical education.
They work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes GPs, Paramedics and Nurses. PAs are able to assess, diagnose and manage patients and at St Lawrence Surgery are supervised by the on-call GP.
Definition of Role:
- A physician Assistant (PA) is a healthcare professional who works with doctors to provide medical care to patients.
- PAs work under the supervision of a senior doctor, such as a General Medical Council registered consultant or general practitioner.
